SoldOut tells the story of social injustice faced by women in a male-dominated African society.
Chioma, her mother, and sisters are repatriated to her grandparent’s home to pave the way for a concubine who will birth a male child for her father. At the village, she meets a man who lures her to Europe with the promise of a decent job and a better life for her family.
SoldOut is the first novel of Hope Nwosu. She was born in 1986 in Akpugoeze, Enugu, Nigeria, and has lived in Finland since 2012. Her short story, The Hairdresser (2014), won the best short story award on StoryMondo.
